Back from a nice relaxing weekend in Riga - lovely very pretty city, much like Prague, only smaller and with more Stag Parties!

As you can see - the Societ influence is strong in some of the public monuments, the below stands outside the Museum of Occupation, which serves to remind everyone of the forced Soviet regime which ruled the Baltics post WW2 until the USSR finally collapsed in the early 90s. Seems like a bygone age, but of course it's little more than a decade ago, so almost everyone remembers it...
