Harriet's Baptism and the rest of the day

|

Early start today, on a very hot day as Victoria, Roz and me drove to Greenwich for Harriet Asker's baptism in a very lively church with a band, a video screen and a vicar who danced like Mick Jagger. Well, he thought he danced like Mick Jagger anyway.

Then it was off to the house of someone from the church (kindly lend to Becci and Chris,) for some food and lots of sitting around trying to find the shade and not swelter too much! Some nice pics from the day here.

Hattie (as her Mum and Dad like to call her - I'll insist on the nicer Harriet!) even had her own U2 like shades to sport, which was pretty cool.

Meanwhile there was a nice group shot of us Luffa people taken by Victoria, which is cool - I don't think we've got any other group shots from anything else we've done since we left, or indeed before for that matter.

We then wandered down to Greenwich Park where we admired the view:

And Tom climbed a tree (with more ease getting up than down).

Then a few drinks down Clapham Common surrounded by all the Aussies, past the guys playing pool and home. Cracking day Grommit!

Sam and Frances' Wedding

|

Hard to think that this was only 9 days ago, feels so much longer already.

The wedding and reception took place in the very pretty little Sussex village of Kirdford, not far from where I grew up but not somewhere I had even been to before. In many respects, it's a typical Sussex village - small old Saxon/Norman church, one pub, lots of green, not much else.

The reception took place in a converted barn opposite someones house, and only accessible by driving a mile and a half down a single track road before your got to their drive - the barn itself another few hundred metres after that surrounded by nothing but fields and forest.

All in all, a top day - a great dinner (with the lamb cooked on the BBQ outside whilst we mulled around and had drinks,) and some good musci from Stu's bad and my good self! Sadly dinner over-ran by two hours so not as much time for dancing as initially envisaged, but I dont think anyone can complain really.

Pics from the wedding here.

I especially like these two. Doesn't Frances look stunning?
